Esteban Morales is the Recruitment and Outreach Manager for the National Aeronautics Space Administration (NASA) Goddard Space Flight Center where he has worked since May of 2013. NASA’s vision is to reach for new heights and reveal the unknown so that what we do and learn will benefit all humankind. Specifically, NASA Goddard Space Flight Center is home to the nation's largest organization of combined scientists, engineers and technologists that build spacecraft, instruments and new technology to study the Earth, the Sun, our Solar System, and the Universe. As NASA Goddard Space Flight Center’s Recruitment and Outreach Manager, he is responsible for developing strategies/plans for broad employee recruitment, placement, outreach programs, and practices designed to attract employees, diversify the Center’s workforce, restructure the current organization, and retain/develop a viable and efficient workforce.
He arrived to NASA from the Department of Labor (DOL) where he worked from January 2011 to April of 2013. At DOL, he was a Diversity and Inclusion Program Manager where he was responsible for creating national recruitment and outreach, strategic diversity policy planning, and coordination among the Departments six regions. He was also the Departments Chief Human Capital Representative for several government wide diversity and inclusion task teams and work groups. From 2003 to 2010, he was an Outreach Specialist for the United States Coast Guard. During his tenure, he participated and completed the Graduate Schools Executive Potential Program (EPP) where he completed a three month detail assignment at Homeland Security Headquarters (DHS) as DHS’s Corporate Diversity Manager and completed a six month detail assignment working at the White House for Vice President Joseph R. Biden.
Previous to working at NASA, Department of Labor, and the United States Coast Guard, he held the position as Senior Program Coordinator for the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities National Internship Program. Over his career, he has assisted and collaborated in developing national policy impacting college students, colleges and universities, congress, federal agencies, corporations, and the White House.
Mr. Morales attained his Bachelors in Political Science from the University of Texas at San Antonio in December 2000, and attained his Masters in Public Administration from the University of Baltimore in May 2007.
