Kathleen Hiteshew

Kathleen Hiteshew has been an industrial hygienist for 13 years, having supported NASA Goddard’s Industrial Hygiene Office for five years as a contractor employed by Project Enhancement Corporation (PEC).  In addition to the support she provides to NASA Goddard, Ms. Hiteshew is the Corporate Health and Safety Manager for PEC, and in that role she develops site-specific safety and health plans that cover a wide variety of contract work, including in national security, program management, and health and safety consulting. She performs office safety evaluations, ergonomic assessments, and administers the onsite AED and first aid/CPR training program at PEC HQ. Ms. Hiteshew supports the Department of Energy’s Office of Environment, Health, Safety and Security, and Office of Environmental Management as a consultant on health, safety, and environmental projects.  In the recent past, she also supported OSHA with developing occupational health standards.  Prior to her work at PEC, Ms. Hiteshew provided support for toxic tort litigation experts.  She earned a Bachelor of Science in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from Tulane University in 2006, and a Master of Science in Environmental Science and Policy from Johns Hopkins University in 2012.  She grew up in Baltimore, MD, and now lives in Sykesville, MD with her husband and four children.
