Jon Davis

Jon has 30 years of experience in Emergency Management, Public Safety, and Fire Protection, with a strong background in emergency response leadership and management.  His unique background includes areas of USAF Special Operations; university fire marshal, terror response emergency management; DoD fire protection and prevention healthcare emergency management; public safety education; agency risk management; and fire protection academy course supervisor and curriculum developer.  He retired after 22 plus years of active military service with the United States Air Force, where he served as a fire chief, emergency manager, and anti-terrorism training liaison with the U.S. State Department and Headquarters Pacific Air Forces Inspector General team member.  He recently Joined NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in January of 2018 as an Emergency Management Specialist, working in the Protective Services Division.  Along with responding to emergencies, working on disaster response and recovery plans, and providing emergency response training to the GSFC community, he helps coordinate the campus fire drill program; works with stakeholders on Areas of Refuge for personnel needing assistance during emergencies; and coordinates training and response efforts with off-campus stakeholders.  Away from work, he’s actively pursuing a Master’s Degree in Emergency Management, likes to relax and watch tv and movies. He also plays professional racquetball, and has been lucky enough to represent the U.S. in international competitions.
